M6.7 earthquake strikes Japanese islands

Officials with the US Tsunami Warning System provided by NOAA and the National Weather Service report there is no threat of a “damaging Pacific-wide” tsunami after a magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck the Ryukyu Islands of Japan at 8:51am Pacific Time.
