Whatcom County Public Works officials said the Whatcom Chief has been temporarily taken out of service this evening.
Winds have been gusting over 50mph in the area and service was suspended due to pieces of a metal roof flying off and landing in the road at the Gooseberry Point dock. The pieces also brought down some wires in the area

Service has been restored.
