This Letter to the Editor is in response to the following story.
When I first read this article of community members sewing masks for hospital workers and saw a photo of children helping who could have runny noses, I immediately thought it was a bad idea.
In national news, I saw where nurses in New York have been making their own masks and are utilizing several sewing machines to make their own in a sanitary place free of germs. But then, when I finished reading this article, I saw where these masks will be laundered and sanitized when they are completed.
Good job, you all. May these masks bless many and help them stay safe (I used to live in Ferndale area so my heart is still there).
