FERNDALE, Wash. — The annual Ferndale Street Festival is scheduled to begin at 6pm on Friday and will continue until 11pm Saturday, August 23rd and 24th.
The Ferndale Chamber of Commerce says they expect a return of thousands of attendees to this, the 17th Ferndale Street Festival, especially in light of recent weather forecasts calling for moderate temperatures and 50% or less chance of rain.
Main Street will be closed Saturday and nearly 100 vendors are expected to take to the street and adjacent businesses will be open creating a 1-day pop-up pedestrian mall from 10am to 6pm Saturday.
Events scheduled Friday and Saturday include:
Friday, August 23rd
- 6pm to 11pm – Beer Garden and food trucks will be open for business on 2nd Avenue
- 8pm to 11pm – Country Night & Line Dancing at the Beer Garden
- 8pm to 11pm – Shannanagins will be performing at the Main Stage
Saturday, August 24th
- 10am to 3pm – Festival of Fenders Car Show on 3rd Avenue
- 10am to 6pm – Kids Street activities including the Bounce Yard will be open on 3rd Avenue
- 11:30am to 2pm – The Walrus will be performing at the Main Stage
- 1pm to 2pm – Pie Eating Contest will be held at Kids Stage
- 3:15pm to 3:30pm – Festival of Fenders Awards Ceremony will be held at the Main Stage
- 5pm to 7pm – JP Falcon will be performing at the Main Stage
- 7:30pm to 8:30pm – Heroes at the Main Stage
- 9pm to 11pm – Blind Fate will be performing at the Main Stage
Main Stage will be located at 2nd Avenue and Vista Drive.
The Beer Garden will be located near the Main Stage.
Kids Stage will be located on 3rd Avenue near Main Street.
Festival of Fenders will be on 3rd Avenue south of Main Street
Proceeds from beer garden sales will go toward purchasing future downtown hanging flower baskets. Proceeds from hot dog sales at “Mel’s Hot Dog Stand” will go toward purchasing downtown holiday lights.
Special tip collections will be held in the beer garden. On Friday, tips will go to support the Ferndale Community Service Cooperative. On Saturday, tips will go to support the Chuckanut Bay Rugby Club whose members will be volunteering at this year’s Street Festival.
