International Athletic owner, Jeff Lombard has been a long-time and active member of the downtown Ferndale business community. He has twice served as president of the Ferndale Chamber and sat on its board for 17 years. And he also has had a skin in the game, operating International Athletic in Ferndale since 1979.
But recently Lombard has put up most of his Main Street retail space for lease as indicated by the large “For Lease” sign in the windows at 2044 Main Street.
Lombard assured Discover Ferndale he is not completely vacating the space he has occupied for the last 25 years. He will continue to run several aspects of his business from the back. These include International Athletic custom canvas bags, custom silk screening and All Season Party Tents.
Lombard will continue to bring his trailer full of athletic wear and accessories to tournaments and other events where he and his trailer have become a familiar sight.
Ferndale natives may recall that location on Main Street has a rich history of having previously been home to grocery, hardware and furniture stores.
