WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Between Friday, September 3rd and Monday, September 6th, 10 small piggy banks filled with $30 each will be available to be found within a 1-mile radius of each of the 23 Peoples Bank branches in Chelan, Island, King, Skagit, Snohomish and Whatcom Counties; a total of 230 hidden pigs statewide and 90 in Whatcom County.

The piggy bank treasure hunt has been an annual event by Bellingham-based Peoples Bank since 2018.

Organizers encourage anyone who finds a bank to keep $15 and use the other $15 to help someone else in a “pay it forward” way.

People who find the piggy banks can also enter to win a $1,000 grand prize by bringing the found piggy bank into a Peoples Bank branch or following instructions provided on the Peoples Bank website.

Branch locations are listed on the Peoples Bank website.
