FERNDALE, Wash. — The Meeting Place, located at 5711 Vista Drive, temporarily closed this week after being told by the Whatcom County Health Department they needed to rearrange their kitchen area to be in compliance.
“This will require plumbing work,” owner Rhonda Wright said. “And that will take some time. We are looking at being closed for 2 to 3 weeks.”
The Meeting Place recently opened in April and has since expanded their menu to include toasted sandwiches, pizzas, chicken wings and soups along with a variety of bagels, pastries, espresso drinks and smoothies.
“We will have to have another grand opening celebration after the closure,” Wright said.

This is really too bad for Rhonda. They serve a great Peppermint Mocha, wonderful sandwiches and of course, Barbs terrific cinnamon rolls. Hoping our great Ferndalians will show up at the 2nd grand opening.
I would have thought that the health department would have had to approve of the kitchen before they initially opened. I second Yvonne Goldsmith’s request that the citizens of Ferndale show up at the 2nd grand opening and support this new, and wonderful business so they can recoup from this costly set back.
