MAPLE FALLS, Wash. — The Washington State Patrol (WSP) reported a Maple Falls man was declared deceased at the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Kendall Road late Wednesday, August 30th.
First responders were dispatched to the area of the Kendall Road S-curves at Mosey Court about 7:45pm due to reports of a single-vehicle crash.
According to a WSP press memo, the 50-year-old was southbound in a 1999 GMC Yukon when the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and crashed into 2 traffic signs and a power pole support cable. The GMC came to rest in the intersection.
The man was determined to have not been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Investigators had not determined whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
Both lanes of Kendall Road were closed until about 11pm due to the crash and subsequent investigation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
