EVERSON, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the 6200 block of Lawrence Road in Everson about 11:20am on Sunday, July 25th, due to a report that 2 kayakers had flipped.
Whatcom County Fire District 1 Fire Chief Rachel Carlson told Whatcom News the kayakers were reported to be in the middle of the Nooksack River without life jackets.
Dispatchers worked with the kayakers via phone to map their location.
Whatcom County Search and Rescue personnel responded with a boat and brought the kayakers to shore. Carlson said both kayakers were uninjured.
