WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Forecasters with the Seattle office of the National Weather Service reported a lightning strike was detected near Lummi Island about noon today, August 31st.
An isolated weather system could be seen on weather radar forming and moving north-northeast after 11am.
Thunderstorms remain possible through the afternoon but are expected primarily in the Cascades according to forecasters.
