UPDATED: Injury T-bone crash closed Slater Road temporarily

FERNDALE, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about 7pm tonight, October 25th, due to a report of a crash at the intersection of Imhof Road and Slater Road.

Initial reports from the scene were that it was a 2-vehicle crash with 1 vehicle on its side. Slater Road was reportedly closed to westbound traffic at Ferndale Road. It was reopened about 7:45pm.

Whatcom County Fire District 7 Division Chief Ben Boyko said they had 3 patients at the scene. 1 was treated and released at the scene, 1 was transported from the crash scene by ambulance to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center via basic life support protocol (BLS), and the third was transported by medics via advanced life support (ALS).

According to Washington State Patrol Trooper Rocky Oliphant, a southbound vehicle on Imhof Road failed to stop at the stop sign at Slater Road and struck a vehicle traveling on Slater Road. The driver of the southbound vehicle will be cited for failure to stop at the stop sign. Drugs and alcohol were not considered a factor but the pouring rain at the time could have been. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.
