BELLINGHAM, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to a report of a single vehicle rollover crash south of the intersection of W Smith Road and Northwest Drive about 4:45pm today, Thursday, June 23rd.
Initial reports from law enforcement personnel at the scene were that Northwest Drive was closed in both directions.
Whatcom County Fire District 7 Division Chief Ben Boyko said they arrived to find 2 vehicles with substantial damage, including 1 that was reported to have rolled 2-3 times.
Boyko said medical crews transported 4 patients from the car that rolled by ambulance to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle was treated and released at the scene. Boyko said he expected a family member would take the driver to the hospital as a precaution.
Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office deputies were on scene investigating the crash and had Northwest Drive closed in both directions.
