Injury crash snarls I-5 traffic south of Slater Road

FERNDALE, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about noon today, November 23rd, to the southbound lanes of I-5 south of the Slater Road interchange due to a report of a multi-vehicle crash.

Initial reports from the scene were that aid crews have more than 1 patient with injuries.

As of 12:20pm, the southbound on-ramp from Slater Road and the right lane of the southbound mainline lanes were blocked.

As of 12:45pm, the right lane and on-ramp were no longer blocked but first responders remained at the scene.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Rocky Oliphant said 1 person was transported from the scene with a broken leg.
