FERNDALE, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about 2:55pm on Tuesday, March 19th, due to reports that vehicle hauler rolled over at the Portal Way southbound on-ramp to I-5.
Initial reports from first responders at the scene were that 2 vehicles in addition to the hauler were involved in a crash and 2 people were injured.
Drivers can expect extended delays through the area while the truck and trailer are righted and the scene cleared.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Kelsey Harding said their investigation determined that the vehicle hauler was traveling too fast while attempting to enter the southbound I-5 lanes from Portal Way causing it to tip over and slide across the main line lanes. A van traveling southbound struck the hauler. The driver of the van suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle hauler was uninjured.
As of 4:35pm, tow trucks were arriving on scene.
WSDOT reported that all lanes were reopened about 5:30pm.
