FERNDALE, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to a report of a residential fire in the 6100 block of Vista Drive about 8:30pm, Wednesday, September 21st.
The fire was quickly knocked down, but the response blocked all traffic on Vista Drive between Robyn Drive and Lincoln Drive.

Whatcom County Fire District 7 Division Chief Ben Russell told Whatcom News the fire had been reported by the occupants and was limited to a front living room which was fully involved when firefighters arrived. Firefighters were able to quickly knock the fire down.
The occupants were able to get out safely, but some had minor injuries that were treated at the scene.
The house suffered smoke damage throughout and Russell said the American Red Cross Northwest Region was contacted to provide assistance and support to the displaced as needed.
The Whatcom County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
Vista Drive remained blocked in both directions as of 9:30pm but was expected to be reopened a short time later.
