Hit-and-run driver sought after man struck while assisting a disabled car on Kendall Road

KENDALL, Wash. — Law enforcement are looking for a dark sedan that is suspected of striking a pedestrian early this morning, July 4th.

First responders were dispatched to the 7800 block of Kendall Road (SR547) about 1am due to a report of a pedestrian having been struck by a vehicle.

A WSP press memo described the victim as a 21-year-old Ferndale man and said he was helping someone with a disabled vehicle when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.

Unconfirmed radio transmissions from the scene reported the pedestrian was thrown 75 feet after being struck, ending up on the side of the road with multiple injuries.

The suspect vehicle is described as a dark 4-door passenger car and was last seen heading southbound on Kendall Road after striking the pedestrian

Washington State Patrol Trooper Will Glahn said the pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was transported to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center.

That section of Kendall Road was closed until 5am while investigators assessed the scene.
