High Wind Warning issued for Friday

The National Weather Service confidently skipped past issuing a Wind Advisory and went straight to a High Wind Warning for a weather event expected this Friday.

According to the NWS’s statement, we can expect

southeast winds will rise Friday morning… probably reaching their peak during the late morning and afternoon hours. The winds should gradually ease Friday evening.

winds should reach 20 to 35 mph… and locally high winds of 40 mph with gusts to 55 or 60 mph are likely.

In addition to the winds Friday, heavy rains are forecast with a half-inch expected. The chance of rainfall is 100%.
