As Ferndalians were settling into their evening routines around 8pm last night, August 5th, sirens began emerging from all directions as several law enforcement agencies engaged a suspect in a high-speed pursuit through Ferndale and up and down I-5.
It all seemed to come to crashing halt on the I-5 Bridge over the Nooksack River but the suspect then took off on foot. The following pictures and a video provided to Discover Ferndale were taken from that point in the chain of events. The camera was located at 6000 Portal Way, the “Y” in the road where Portal Way goes straight and dead ends and turns to go under I-5.
