Head-on crash in Lynden sends 1 to the hospital

LYNDEN, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about 5:55pm on Sunday, January 29th, to Bender Road near Bender Place due to a report of a head-on crash between a pickup truck and a car.

Lynden Police Chief Steve Taylor told Whatcom News that their investigation determined a 2021 Honda Civic was being driven by Cameron Hagins, age 25 and of Lynden, southbound on Bender Road when it crossed the center line and struck a 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup being driven northbound by a 39-year-old Lynden man. Error, group does not exist! Check your syntax! (ID: 11)

As a result of the crash, Hagins sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported from the scene to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center by Lynden Fire Department via a medic unit. The other driver was assessed by aid crews but not transported.

Hagins was issued a citation for 2nd-degree negligent driving.
