FERNDALE, Wash. — Whatcom County Fire District 7, Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office and Washington State Patrol personnel were dispatched about noon today, July 11th, to a report of a tractor vs. passenger car crash at the intersection of Olson Road and Mountain View Road.

According to WCFD7 Division Chief Justin Iverson, a Magnum farm tractor was westbound on Mountain View Road with 2 trailers carrying hay wrapped in plastic when it made a right turn to Olson Road, swinging wide into the oncoming lane. A silver Subaru Impreza was southbound on Olson Road approaching Mountain View Road when it collided with the tractor.

The Subaru left the road after the collision, ending up in a shallow ditch between the road and a farm field. The Subaru sustained significant visible body damage along the driver’s side from the vehicle’s front end to the driver’s door. Iverson said the Subaru driver was able exit their vehicle on their own through the passenger side.
