3:45pm
Several cable and utility crew trucks could be seen working on the poles and loose wire strands could be seen south of Harksell Road near the west side of the “S” curve. The road remained open while they worked.
A reader said she had seen a truck get tangled up in the wires and “rip them.” She thought the driver probably didn’t even realize it.
2:35pm
The road has been reopened. There remains a low-hanging wire but it has been identified as a phone company wire, not a power line.
2:30pm
A better description of the situation is that lines are hanging too low to clear traffic driving underneath. Puget Sound Energy crews have been requested. No power outage has been reported in the area.
2:20pm
Not certain of the exact location but just heard that Harksell Road at Enterprise Road will be closed temporarily while lines in the road are dealt with.
It is unknown what caused the wires to become an issue. There had been a rear-ender accident earlier at that location but neither vehicle was reported to have struck a pole.
Drivers can expect a detour and/or delays driving in the area.
Discover Ferndale will continue monitoring.
