Gerald, “Jerry” Landcastle, former Ferndale mayor, dies at 84

FERNDALE, Wash. — Surprise Funeral Care of Surprise, Arizona reported today, September 2nd, that former Mayor of Ferndale, Jerry Landcastle, passed away August 31st at age 84.

Landcastle served active duty with US Navy Seabees from 1954 to 1974.

Landcastle served as mayor from 2004 to 2007 after defeating Lloyd Zimmerman in the 2003 General Election. He is accredited for bringing Riverwalk Park to the Ferndale community.

He also served on the Ferndale City Council from 2002 until being elected mayor after running unopposed in the 2001 General Election.

Landcastle was a residential and commercial developer and real estate broker while living in Ferndale.

A funeral Mass will be held at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ferndale at a yet to be announced date, with military honors at the graveside at Greenacres Memorial Park.
