FERNDALE, Wash. — Traffic in Ferndale was impacted this morning while a warrant service was carried out at an apartment complex in the 2300 block of Main Street beginning around 9am.
Officials with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) said the Whatcom County Gang and Drug Task Force served a search warrant with the assistance of the WCSO Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team. Personnel with the Ferndale Police Department also assisted with blocking streets and other safety measures.
Announcements to the apartment occupants that they were under arrest and to come outside could be heard. After about an hour, SWAT team personnel were seen entering and escorted at least 3 subjects from the apartment.
Whatcom County Fire District 7 aid crews were onsite and appeared to be assessing the 3 subjects’ medical conditions. No injuries to the subjects or to law enforcement were reported.
