Friday morning update

6:10am: Good morning. It is an unseasonably warm morning with temperatures in the mid-fifties around Ferndale. But, of course, the temperature is dropping. With that warmer air comes blustery winds with gusts from 40mph to 50mph recorded in Ferndale over the past hour.

The revised Nooksack River level forecast for Ferndale expects the river to crest at just under 16′ about midnight tonight. No flooding is expected per the forecast.

Today is an early release day for Ferndale school kids in grades K through 5.

Today’s Ferndale weather forecast calls for light rain early then cloudy with showers in the afternoon. High expected in the mid-fifties (which has already been achieved) and winds from the south at 10 to 20 mph (if they settle down). Chance of rain is 70%.
