FERNDALE, Wash. — The National Weather Service canceled their Flood Watch today, October 22nd, at 11:30am. According to the 9:45am Nooksack River level forecast, the river is expected to crest at about the 16-foot mark about noon today.
Some road impacts can be expected when the river exceeds the 15-foot mark.
City of Ferndale officials announced they have closed W Smith Road between Hovander Road and LaBounty Drive due to water over the roadway. Ferndale Road, north of Slater Road, and the corner of Paradise/Barrett Roads have water over the roadway but remain open.
Drivers should be alert as conditions and open/closed status of roads can change quickly and to avoid driving over flooded roads.
The My Ferndale News Traffic page includes a map indicating locations of where flooding has impacted roads. This will be updated as reports are received.
