Firefighters respond to equipment fire at Bellingham WSDOT facility

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the 3900 block of Airport Way about 5:20pm, Thursday, March 17th, due to a report of alarms having been activated at the Washington State Department of Transportation’s (WSDOT) maintenance facility.

A trooper from the Washington State Patrol’s office next door was able to provide firefighters access to the closed yard according to WSP Trooper Jacob Kennett.

Kennett said they were told firefighters had located an equipment fire in a building. After extinguishing the fire, firefighters could be seen assessing the scene using a ladder truck.

No injuries were reported.
