GLACIER, Wash. — Firefighters from Glacier Fire and Rescue (GFR) were dispatched to a report of explosions at a residential fire on Rainier Way in the early morning hours Sunday, May 16th. The fire was reported by a volunteer firefighter that lives nearby and awoken by the fire.

According to GFR Fire Chief Josh Evans, they arrived to find a fully involved travel trailer. It was determined no one was in the trailer at the time.

Evans said there were no injuries but the trailer and a van parked next to it were considered total losses.

Evans speculated the explosions heard were from burning tires bursting.

Whatcom County Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
