FERNDALE, Wash. — Whatcom Dream, a non-profit group that provides financial literacy courses throughout the Whatcom County, is partnering with Christ Lutheran Church in Ferndale to hold an 8-week financial literacy course.
Course topics will include budgeting, goals, debt management, credit repair, insurance, consumerism and home ownership. Organizers say the course is for anyone who needs education and budgeting help to make financial progress in their life.
Classes will meet each Monday from 6:30pm to 8pm for 8 weeks beginning October 2nd.
The course fee is $20 and some scholarships are available. Anyone interested in attending is asked to contact Whatcom Dream to register at (360) 319-3759. Space is limited and registration is required.
According to their website, Whatcom Dream programs help “people learn to build a better future for themselves, reach important goals and dreams, achieve self sufficiency, college completion, retain gainful employment, become contributors to the community and experience the peace of mind that comes with finally having enough to sustain themselves.”
Whatcom Dream was recently awarded an unspecified amount of money by Whatcom Educational Credit Union as a 2019 Education First Grant recipient.
