The Star Park Playground Project got some more support with a $5,000 donation from a Ferndale company.
According to an emailed announcement from the City of Ferndale today, December 29th, Superfeet, located at 1820 Scout Place, donated $5,000 toward the construction of Star Park. Donations are matched from a grant from the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office.
According to Superfeet’s Customer Care Manager and Giving Committee Chairperson Jolene McEachran,
Superfeet is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of those around us – as a corporate citizen of Ferndale, we are pleased to be able to support this project. The Star Park Playground will be a wonderful addition to our community.
Superfeet designs and manufactures insoles for sports and footwear sold worldwide.
The city continues to seek volunteers to build the playground. The playground is expected to be built almost entirely by volunteers between the days of May 31st and June 5th.
Volunteers are asked to sign up now. In addition to helping with the playground construction, volunteers are asked to join one or more of the following committees associated with the project:
- Fundraising
- Volunteer Recruitment
- Seeking tools
- Food
- Public Relations/Advertising
