FERNDALE, Wash. — Svetlana V Golovin, age 28, was booked into the Whatcom County Jail on August 4th charged with suspicion of vehicular assault after an incident involving her boyfriend.

According to the affidavit of probable cause submitted to the Whatcom County Superior Court, the incident began when Golovin was having a “heated argument” with her boyfriend outside a residence in the 1400 block of St Helens Lane about 1am on August 4th. He was standing by the driver’s side of Golovin’s Acura TSX sedan when she “quickly reversed the Acura sedan backwards out of the driveway.” The boyfriend’s legs were struck by the front driver’s side quarter panel, he fell to the ground and Golovin drove away according to the affidavit.

The boyfriend suffered leg and back injuries as a result of the impact. City of Ferndale Communications Officer Riley Sweeney said in an email, “The male had significant injuries and was flown to Harborview [Medical Center in Seattle], he’s had surgery and should recover.”

Golovin is scheduled to be arraigned on the charge August 16th.

Whatcom County Superior Court records indicate Golovin was found guilty in 2017 to a controlled substance violation and bail jumping.
