FERNDALE TRAFFIC ALERT: 6-week Malloy Ave closure announced

FERNDALE, Wash. — An arterial through Ferndale will be closed for up to 6-weeks according to an announcement from Ferndale Public Works today, April 1st. The temporary closure is due to work scheduled at the intersection of Malloy Avenue and Thornton Street.

A 1.5-mile section of Malloy Avenue will be close to northbound and southbound through traffic between Seamount Drive and Aldergrove Road beginning Tuesday, April 6th, the announcement said. Eastbound and westbound traffic through the intersection of Malloy Avenue and Thornton Street will be directed through the work area by flaggers. The closed section of Malloy Avenue will remain open to local traffic.

The closure will be in effect all day and all night while work is underway.

The closure is expected to last up to 6 weeks into mid-May and is necessary to allow for utility replacements and upgrades related to the Thornton Street Overpass project.

Traffic will be detoured around the work area via Vista Drive according to today’s announcement.
