FERNDALE, Wash. — Ferndale Public Works announced the following road projects expected to impact traffic including 1 that is expected to continue through the summer.
Thornton Street between Vista Drive and Malloy Avenue
Motorists should expect delays while the road is reduced to a single lane with alternating traffic on Friday, February 18th, from 7am to 7pm. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic. This closure is for utility work associated with the Thornton Street, Vista Drive to Malloy Avenue Improvement Project, a project to reconstruct and widen Thornton Street to add sidewalks on both sides of the road and upgraded or added street lighting.

LaBounty Drive, north of W Smith Road
Drivers should expect delays as traffic is reduced to single lane traffic on LaBounty Drive, between the Les Schwab Tire Center and W Smith Road beginning Monday, February 14th, and lasting through Friday, August 12th April 1st, between the hours of 7am and 7pm. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic. Road will remain open during nonworking hours. This work is to complete shoulder improvements associated with a private development project.

Thornton Street between Shannon Avenue and Maureen Drive
Motorists should expect delays while the road is reduced to a single lane with alternating traffic from Monday, February 14th, through Friday, February 25th, between the hours of 7am and 7pm. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic and pedestrians around the work zone. The road will remain open during nonworking hours. This work is to complete utility work associated with a private development project.
