BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham Police Department (BPD) officers were dispatched on April 2nd about 12:45am to the area of Birchwood Avenue and Northwest Avenue due to a report of a brandishing.

According to documents filed with the Whatcom County Superior Court, officers arrived to find 3 people on 1 side of Cedarwood Avenue and 1 person seated on the other. 1 of the 3 told officers that the person on the other side had sent a video threatening to damage her car. So, she and the other 2 went to that location and found the suspect parked in a vehicle behind hers.

As they confronted the suspect, he ordered the alleged victim to get in his car. When she refused, he reportedly pointed a handgun at her forehead and began pulling her into his car.

1 of the persons with the victim then sprayed the suspect with pepper spray. The suspect then let go of the victim. All parties then left the area in their respective vehicles.

Upon stopping at a nearby location, a fight broke out between the suspect and the person who had used the pepper spray. This allowed the other person with the victim to confiscate the suspects keys and secure a handgun visible on a seat.

The suspect, identified as Erick Armando Price, age 27, was arrested and booked into the Whatcom County Jail. He now faces felony charges of 1st-degree attempted kidnapping and 2nd-degree assault with a deadly weapon.

Price was released from custody the next day after posting a $75,000 bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned on April 12th.
