The annual effort to stock the Ferndale Food Bank with turkeys for Thanksgiving is underway. Whatcom County Fire Protection District 7 (WCFD7), in conjunction with the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce, is making it easy for everyone to help those who find themselves in need this year.
Every $10 in donations goes toward the purchase of a turkey. The goal is to raise more this year than last year and last year saw a record $7050 was raised.
According to Food Bank Executive Director Suzanne Nevan, donations are also being accepted from businesses and faith communities for the “fixings” to go with the birds.
Donations can be made online by clicking this link. You can also call the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce (360-384-3042) or WCFD7 Assistant Chief Larry Hoffman (360-815-1614) to make pledges.
Pledges will be accepted from October 7th through November 21st.
