FERNDALE, Wash. — The Ferndale Food Bank is celebrating full shelves after a recent Ferndale Police and Firefighters food drive. But they are also dealing with the loss of a yet to be installed awning.

The 18-foot awning had been recently delivered and was last seen in its packaging outside before it discovered missing this morning, Friday, December 16th. The Smoky Blue 300 pound awning was going to be used to shelter their clients from the weather while they shopped according to Food Bank Co-director Andrew Babson.

“We would really appreciate it if anyone could help us find it,” Babson told Whatcom News. He said the packaging was about 20-feet long and weighed hundreds of pounds. It would have required a truck or trailer to haul it away.

Anyone with information can contact the Food Bank by calling 360-384-1506 and by email to director@ferndalefoodbank.org.
