Ferndale Community Development Director announces resignation

FERNDALE, Wash. — The City of Ferndale announced last week they were accepting applications for the position of Community Development Director, a position held by Haylie Miller for over 2 years.

Ferndale City Administrator Jori Burnett said Miller has accepted the position of Community Development Director in her hometown of Marysville, Washington.

Miller was initially hired by the City as an assistant planner in 2013.

Burnett told the Council he will serve as interim Community Development Director until a replacement can be found.

According to the City, the Community Development Director is a professional management position requiring a college degree and at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in planning/community development. Under the general supervision of the City Administrator, the Community Development Director provides department leadership and vision; administers day-to-day activities of the Community Development Department; conducts review and analysis of development proposals; spearheads long-range planning efforts of the City; and provides primary support for the City decision-making bodies. The position’s salary range is $95,000 to $115,000/year.
