The Ferndale Community Blood Drive is happening tomorrow, Friday, November 13th, outside of the Ferndale Haggen store.
The mobile Bloodworks Northwest donation vehicle will be outside the Ferndale Haggen store accepting donations from 10am until 4pm (but will be closed from 12:30pm to 1:30pm).
A blood drive reminds us that we have so much to be thankful for — especially our health. Every blood donor is a potential lifesaver. Every unit of whole blood collected, when separated into its components; platelets, plasma, and red cells, can benefit up to three patients.
Bloodworks Northwest supports 90 hospitals in the Northwest and blood is needed every day to meet the needs of patients having surgery and organ transplants or receiving cancer treatment or therapies for blood disorders.

- Yes, you CAN donate if you’ve had a flu shot.
- Yes, you CAN donate if you’ve had a tattoo in the past 12 months – as long as it was performed in a licensed facility in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, or California
- Yes, you CAN donate if you are a diabetic – as long as you are healthy you are able to give
- Yes, you CAN donate if you are taking blood pressure medicine, as long as your blood pressure is within range
- Yes, you CAN donate 6 weeks after pregnancy.
- And there is NO upper age limit – as long as you are healthy and have a beating heart you’re eligible!
