FERNDALE, Wash. — Ferndale-based Healthy Pet officials announced today they are donating approximately 11,000 pounds of their ökocat plant-based cat litter to 5 US animal rescue organizations.

ökocat customers were asked to nominate their favorite eco-friendly cities where the brand would select donation recipients. Animal shelters in the winning cities selected are:

  • Whatcom Humane Society in Bellingham, Washington
  • The Cat House in Lincoln, Nebraska
  • Asheville Humane Society in Asheville, North Carolina
  • Chicago Animal Care & Control in Chicago, Illinois
  • Northwest Animal Companions in Portland, Oregon

Their support helps us care for thousands of homeless, unwanted cats and kittens annually and allows us to save badly needed resources to fulfill our mission and life-saving work. We are so grateful for all they do for the animals in our shelter and community.Whatcom Humane Society Director Laura Clark
