UPDATED: Ferndale businesses and residences hit by morning outage

FERNDALE, Wash. — While the winds and rain have subsided a power outage of yet to be officially announce cause has struck Ferndale areas east of the Nooksack River across I-5 and into east Ferndale. Puget Sound Energy (PSE) reported over 1,000 customer addresses were impacted. Impacted businesses

About 8:20am, about the same time the outage was reported to PSE, first responders were dispatched to a crash on Paradise Road. At the scene was downed power lines and a power pole broken near the top.

The road has been closed and given that PSE crews were already stretched as they were responding to the remnants of the the many outages from yesterday’s wind storm.

UPDATE 11:15am – PSE reported power was restored to their customers west of I-5 and some east of I-5. 450 customer addresses east of I-5 remained without power. The crash was officially given as the cause of the outage.
