Ferndale 12U Cal Ripken World Series record at 2 – 1

The following was submitted to Discover Ferndale by Ferndale 12U Cal Ripken Team Manager Bill Hatchett:


Ferndale beat the Midwest plains region, Galena Kansas, 15 to 1 in the third pool play game of the 2017 12U Cal Ripken World Series.

Isaiah Carlson was the winning pitcher against Midwest Plains. He pitched 2 1/3 innings only allowing one hit and one run. Andrew James came in and closed out the last inning and 2/3 in the run rule shortened game, allowing no hits and no runs. Ferndale had a total of 15 hits in the game. Isaiah Carlson lead the way going four for four at the plate, with a homerun and five RBI.

Ferndale’s record at the World Series is now 2 and 1. The fourth and final pool play game will be played Monday at 8 PM Eastern time (5pm PT) against the Southeast region champion and host team, Clemmons North Carolina.


The Ferndale 12U Cal Ripken team made it to the Cal Ripken World Series in Clemmons, North Carolina, after earning championships in recent State and Regional tournaments.

Ferndale took a loss, 7 to 1, against the Middle Atlantic region champion, Cedar Cliff, in the 1st World Series game on Thursday but came back to beat Southwest region champion, Clark County Arkansas, 15 to 0, in the second pool play game yesterday.
