The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory today regarding high winds expected tomorrow, Saturday, August 29th. They also noted a couple interesting twists regarding the expected wind storm.
- Wind storms like what is expected typically occur in late fall or winter, not August.
- While fall and winter wind storms often occur without incident, tomorrow’s event will occur while trees are full of leaves. This presents a greater potential for broken branches, downed trees and resulting power outages.
In addition to the wind, the forecast predicts about 1-inch rainfall accumulation for Saturday.
