The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Wind Advisory for western Whatcom County to be in effect from 6am to 3pm Saturday, October 10th.
While today’s winds were not forewarned, we are told to expect something similar tomorrow. We had gusts just over 40 MPH recorded in Ferndale today. The wind advisory for tomorrow warns about just a little more.
- When: Saturday morning and early afternoon
- What: South winds 20 to 35 MPH with gusts to 45 MPH possible
- Expect: Downed tree limbs and fallen weak trees with potential for localized power outages.
In addition to the winds, tomorrow’s forecast also calls for nearly a half inch of rainfall, mostly in the afternoon and early evening hours.
A Wind Advisory is issued when winds of 35 mph are expected.
