FERNDALE, Wash. — Officials with Whatcom County Public Works advise drivers to either avoid the area or expect delays on Slater Road near the Nooksack River bridge between Ferndale Road and LaBounty Drive.

A biennial bridge inspection of the Slater Road bridge over the Nooksack River will occur between 9am and 4pm on Tuesday, April 20th.

During the inspection, Slater Road will be reduced to a single lane with flaggers alternating the direction of traffic at the bridge. Drivers can expect delays of 15 minutes or less according to the announcement and using alternate routes is advised.
