UPDATED: Everson Goshen Road closed due to fatality crash

EVERSON, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the area of E Hemi Road and Everson Goshen Road about 5:20am on Friday, March 10th, due to a report of collision followed by 1 of the involved vehicles leaving the scene at a high rate of speed and crashing nearby.

As of 6:30am, Everson Police said traffic on Everson Goshen Road was blocked in both directions between Central Road and E Hemmi Road. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes. The road was reportedly reopened about 11am.

About 1pm, Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Deb Slater provided Whatcom News with the following details from their investigation.

On March 10 around 5:20 am, an original collision occurred at Pole Rd and Everson Goshen Rd. The suspect fled that scene for an unknown reason and headed southbound on Everson Goshen Rd. and collided with a vehicle that was headed northbound, which instantly killed the suspect. Everson Goshen Rd was closed between Central Rd. and E Hemmi Rd. from 6:30 – 11:00 am for the investigation. There were no other injuries.
