Equipment failure blamed for morning power outage in Blaine

BLAINE, Wash. — About 150 City of Blaine electrical utility customers were without power for up to 90 minutes this morning, March 29th, along with traffic signals and a school campus.

According to City staff, the outage, reported about 7:30am, impacted customers around Lincoln Park along with traffic signals at the intersection of Pacific Highway and H Street and on the Blaine School District campus.

City staff were able to isolate the problem and restore power to the schools, traffic signals and 100 impacted customers by 8am. Power was restored to all impacted by 9am according to City staff. Equipment failure was identified as the cause of the outage.
