LYNDEN, Wash. — Officials with Whatcom County Public Works announced today, Tuesday, June 24, 2025, that motorists can expect delays on Hannegan Road tomorrow during emergency bridge repairs and inspection.
The bridge over the Nooksack River, located just south of the Lynden city limits, is scheduled to undergo emergency repairs on the bridge’s mid-span expansion joint beginning at 8am. Lane closures are expected to last several hours.
Crews will start with the northbound lane, followed by the southbound lane. Each closure is expected to last several hours. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane, and minor delays are expected. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid extended wait times.

According to Whatcom County Public Works, the bridge is a 2-lane, 320-foot-long structure composed of 3 steel spans with concrete box girder approaches.
