Neighbors and people driving by need not worry about the presence of emergency response vehicles seen around Ferndale High School tomorrow, Tuesday, November 6th.
A multi-agency communications exercise will bring together staff and volunteers from City of Ferndale, Ferndale School District, Whatcom County Fire District 7, Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office and Ferndale Auxiliary Communication Service. The exercise will be carried out from 9am to 11:30am.
One of the goals of the exercise according to press releases from agencies involved is to practice activating the Public Information Officers (PIO) response team that is part of the Whatcom County Division of Emergency Management.
This exercise will not involve students or school staff like past exercises which were based on active threat scenarios.
