From the editor: Taking a minute to say thanks

One of the cards sent to Discover Ferndale.

These snow event days have been a challenge for so many in our community but also an opportunity for so many to come forward to help their neighbors.

Many in the business community, schools, city and county employees and neighbors have stepped up to make it possible for most to safely get around. There have been reports of neighbors helping neighbors as well.

Discover Ferndale (DF) has been the beneficiary of assistance from those in the list above as well. Many readers are probably unaware that DF is the result of one person’s efforts. As a result, I am dependent upon tips and information provided from others in the community. So for all those who have contributed and helped out the past few very busy and stressful days, I sincerely thank you.

To you, dear readers, I also send sincere thanks for your support. Enough of you found value in the stories that you chalked up the following statistics between Friday and Monday,

Many thanks to readers who have taken time to send notes and letters of support, including those who have provided financial support. Your kind words and validation of the effort being made are motivating and sincerely appreciated.

And a great a big thank you to the many advertisers who provide the bulk of the support to bring you the information needed to better take advantage of the quality of life available in the Ferndale area. Readers, take note of who you should be doing business with. These are the businesses supporting your community news. Sadly, I suppose, little effort has been put into selling advertising, for the most part, these advertisers bothered to contact me with their interest in advertising.

Ferndale is a beautiful and wonderful place to live, raise a family and work. Let’s continue working together to make it even more so.

Thank you all.
