LYNDEN, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about 11:20am today, Tuesday, May 9th, to the 500 block of E Pole Road due to a report of a crash.

At least 1 lane of E Pole Road reportedly remained closed as of 12:30pm.
North Whatcom Fire & Rescue (NWFR) Division Chief Shaun Ward told Whatcom News that NWFR, Bellingham Fire and the Lynden Fire personnel responded. They arrived to find a pickup had collided into the rear of a semi-truck with a trailer. The driver of the pickup was entrapped and the pickup had sustained heavy frontend damage. Firefighters extricated the patient who was then transported to PeaceHealth St Joseph’s Medical Center via basic life support (BLS) protocol.

AS of 12:30pm, Washington State Patrol Trooper Kelsey Harding said there was little information available regarding the cause of the crash and the status of the road.
