Donated supplies and volunteers needed for Ferndale shelters

FERNDALE, Wash. — City of Ferndale officials are asking for donated supplies for shelters following a recent evacuation advisory.

There are 2 overnight shelters in Ferndale.

  1. For those on the west side of the Nooksack River
    The Ferndale High School Cafeteria located at 5830 Golden Eagle Dr
    Contact Kate Bishop at (360) 325-2017 to coordinate volunteering
  2. For those on the east side of the Nooksack River
    Good News Fellowship located at 1252 West Axton Road
    Contact Pastor Luke LeViere at (360) 510-5096 to coordinate volunteering

Christ Lutheran Church at 5904 Vista Drive is serving soup and sandwiches.

The following items are needed at the shelters.

  • food
  • blankets
  • pillows
  • bottled water
  • cots
  • air mattresses
  • paper plates & plastic utensils
  • charging cords for cell phones
  • pet carriers/food/supplies

Volunteers are also needed to help at the shelters in shifts, including overnight.

Ferndale residents needing assistance are asked to contact Ferndale City Hall at (360) 384-4006.
